About Us at the Orange Adventist church

The Orange Seventh-day Adventist church is a member of the sisterhood of churches of the Potomac Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. We have worshipped in our present building at the corner of Peliso and Newton Streets in Orange, Virginia since 1972. Our congregation numbers about 90 and most live in the surrounding area rather than the town of Orange.

Our pastor, Wayne Spangenberg, shares his services with churches at Stafford and Culpeper, Virginia.

We share a bond of faith with the world-wide Seventh-day Adventist church, a church with a world-wide membership in 2004 of about 11 million members. We try to reach out to our communities to share our understandings of the Bible and our concern for the temporal and eternal welfare of our neighbors. We participate with other local churches in helping to provide community services.

We welcome visitors to our weekly services on Saturday mornings, the Bible Sabbath. To accomodate our pastor's service to his other churches, we have our worship service first, at 9:30 a.m. followed by Sabbath School (a Bible study time) at 11:00 a.m. Usually in Adventist churches, the Sabbath School time comes first.

Besides the information about our Bible understandings on this web site (and many other Adventist web sites on the Internet), we are happy to provide literature on Adventist Bible understandings to folks in our communities, correspondence Bible studies, and even Bible studies in personal sharing settings. Send an e-mail to ask about any of these options.
